Dapkiškė, an ancient archaeological site, is located in Dapkiškės village on the right bank of the Neman River. Embedded in a limestone hill, it stands 54 meters above sea level. The back of the hillfort is low, 3 meters below the top ridge. In the western part of the hillfort, a 40-meter-deep, 3-meter-high, and 19-meter-wide ditch was dug. The top of the ditch's outspur is 5.5 meters above ground level, providing a view to a height of 35 meters, a width of 10 meters, and a depth of 2 meters. At the north side of the outspur, the ditch deepens to 3 meters below the hill's ridge, 0.5 meters below the top, and further dug is 50 meters deep, 1 meter high, and 5 meters wide.
In the south side, 3 meters below the hill's edge is a 9-step terrace, spaced 1 meter apart towards the south. The bottom of the hill's slope slopes towards the Neman.
