Born in 1817, José Zorrilla began his existence in a quaint dwelling situated on Calle Fray Luis de Granada, Valladolid, Spain. Today, this house, classified as a Local Monument of Historical-Artistic Interest, presents a peculiar museum, containing Zorrilla's original furnishings. Paintings by Ruiz de Valdivia and Miguel Jadraque adorn the walls: 'La llegada al campamento' and 'Don Quijote enfermo'. A grim addition to the display is a funeral mask, skillfully created by Aurelio Rodríguez-Vicente Carreterte, bearing the likeness of Zorrilla. Despite the enigma that surrounds it, this house remains a source of intrigue and inspiration.
