In the heart of Valladolid lies the Royal Palace of Valladolid. Dating back to 1524, it has served as the temporary residence for Spanish monarchs from Charles I to Isabella II. French Emperor Napoleon even stayed here during the Peninsular War. Currently, it serves as the headquarters of the 4th General Sub-inspection of the Spanish Army. Originally designed by royal architect Luis de Vega, the palace features numerous courtyards, a chapel, and royal state rooms. A significant renovation occurred at the beginning of the 20th century, reshaping the palace's original design.
