Located within the Pajauta Valley, Kernavė - the oldest capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania - is home to a collection of five ancient hillforts: Lizdeika, Mindaugas Throne, Altar, Castle Hill, and Kriveikiškis. These hillforts, now under Kernavė State Cultural Reserve, offer a fascinating look into the region's storied past, with each site showcasing the history of its own unique dynasty and contributing to the birthplace of Lithuanian democracy. Kriveikiškis Hillfort, distinctly situated 0.4 km from the other four by the Kernavėlė Stream, rounds out the intriguing ensemble of these hillforts.
