The ancient triangular hillfort in Elektrėnai

The hillfort, known as Pilies Kalnas – Latvių Piliakalnis, is located near the Vievis–Paparčiai road, approximately 360 meters from it. To its right, 280 meters from Sukros Upelis River bank and 50 meters to its left, in the woods, lies the hillfort. Constructed on a hill with a triangular shape, it is contained by three walls, the remains of which stand up to 3 meters high. The walls, built from limestone and stone, date back to the 1st century AD. The Lithuanian government declared the hillfort a protected cultural heritage object – 1998-05-19; Nr.612. The area of the hillfort's territory is 0.55 hectares. The area of the visual protection zone is 839,000 square meters.
