In 1890, Gustaf Christian Edvard Barnekow and Agnes Sofia Montgomery built Vannaröd Castle as a copy of Agnes' ancestral home in Scotland. The main building is currently leased to a restaurant. According to some sources, Vannaröd Castle was built as a copy of Agnes' ancestral home, but no evidence is given that it was Agnes who owned the ancestral home in Scotland.
