Tykarp’s Cave, located beneath Tykarp (near Hässleholm), is a former limestone mine. Spanning around 20,000 m², only half of it is accessible to visitors. The kalk mining dates back to the 1100s. Operational from the mid-18th century until 1888, the cave re-opened to the public in 2012 following the construction of a new emergency exit. The cave's closure for a brief period in 2010 necessitated these changes. Four other caves in the Ignaberga region, less maintained and seldom visited by tourists, remain relatively unknown.
