Hotellet invigdes 1907 och är idag en av Sveriges vackraste byggnader i jugendstil. Det var första byggnad i Västerås som hade vattentoaletter vilket ansågs vara mycket lyxigt och modernt. Byggnaden är välbevarad och har ett stort kulturhistoriskt värde.
