The Ukmergė Hillfort, situated in Lithuania, was buried from the map for centuries before being unearthed and opened to tourists in 2013. This enigmatic oval hillfort, stretching approximately 85 meters long and 1-4 meters high, with depths ranging from 11-24 meters, was primarily constructed in the 19th century. Situated in Ukmergė and its neighboring town, the hillfort's northern part is less substantial compared to the deeper southern part. Erosion was halted in 1993–1995. Interestingly enough, a man was buried with another individual in the heart of the hillfort in 1836.
