Torreta Alonson, identified as a cultural asset of significance, was engineered to safeguard farmers. Originally, the central tower towered high, now dwindled to a lone survivor. Its sturdy, square tower with battlements, crafted from sandstone and adorned with Arab tiles, shows the signs of its historic function. A grand entrance, boasting a stone lintel and jambs, offers passage. Inside, vestiges of windows on each level and a parapet at the rooftop endure even through renovations. Among several defense towers in Cabanes – such as Carmelet, del Carmen, and Torre de los Gatos – Torreta Alonson continues to draw countless visitors. Persisting, it stands resolute against the relentless march of time.
