Discover the ancient hilltop fort of Visättra and Solgård: Secrets of Sweden's

Visättra Fornborg, located between Solgård and Visättra in Huddinge commune, is an ancient hilltop fort dating back to the Viking Age, although the exact age is not known. The area forms part of Flemingsbergsskogens naturreservat and lies along the innermost part of Flemingsbergsviken. Within the same region, Huddinge's largest fornborg, Stensättra Fornborg, is situated approximately 900 meters northwest of Stensättra gård.

Visättra Fornborg and Solgårds Fornborg, both originating from the Viking Age, are situated approximately 1.4 km west-northwest of each other. Visättra Fornborg covers a 110x70 meters area and stands on a relatively high hilltop. An eastern wall, approximately 40 meters long, 4 meters wide, and 0.4 meters high, was built at Visättra Fornborg. The eastern wall was constructed of 0.4–0.6 meter large gray stones. An ingress, about 2 meters wide, is located centrally in the eastern wall and was likely built recently. Stone fragments from the eastern wall can be found near its base.
