Snättringe Court

Snättringe Court

A piece of history from the Swedish countryside.

The company El-effekt has owners with roots from the new settler community and continues in new buildings on the old grounds of Snättringe farm.

Snättringe farm's main building was built in a time when wind-protected locations were preferred over lake views. The year 1648 is written on the wind vane. It's been a long time, many have lived there and a lot has happened.

In the old records, you can read about Snättringe municipal community's plans to create a beach on their side of the lake. This never happened, but a history-interested person at Huddinge commune has given the road the historical name Badstrandsvägen and the place became the cover of the book ’Snättringe and Långsjö – History around a lake’. Bengt Höglund took the picture and the land by the shore is now exceptionally cared for by a neighboring resident.

At the top right on the hill by the shore stands the house Sagatun, originally designed by architect Spolén in collaboration with architect Ragnar Östberg. The house has been expanded, but you can still see traces of the original architects. Another Sagatun was located at Trondheim fjord and was Sweden-Norway's first folk high school.

To the left, a beach trail leads to Tranparken and Snättringe FF's tent, one of Långsjörundan's many goals. Snättringe FF has now proposed/requested in 2016 a lamppost at that trail.
