Abandoned Train Station in Hontoria set for Revitalization as Dry Port and

Hontoria, a locality in the municipality of Segovia, houses an abandoned railway station. Built in 1950, this station is located at kilometer 59.4 on the Villalba-Segovia railway line. Originally, the company Norte, which constructed the line, showed little interest in this track due to the existing Madrid-Hendaya line. However, a project to electrify the line was developed in 1928, which was eventually implemented in 1946. Since then, the station has served as a storage area without passenger service, although trains continue to pass through. The future, however, looks promising as plans are in place to create a dry port and logistics center in Hontoria as part of the development of the industrial park Prado del Hoyo.
