The square-shaped Panemunės Hillfort was a defensive structure enclosing a 49x18 meter area, with the eastern and western parts of the wall being particularly steep. Discovered in 1997, historical treasures were found near the hillfort, on a 4-hectare settlement. These included coins from the Roman Empire, fragments of seals and jewelry, and various pottery. However, the history surrounding it remains a mystery, with many questions left unanswered.
