Standing tall, a 100-foot, rustic steel Big Springs Lookout Tower hovers above Kaibab National Forest, just a hop, skip, and a jump from Big Springs, Arizona. A crew from Kanab, Utah, snagged the job from the U.S. Service to assemble this towering structure in 1934. Resting atop the tower is a square cab measuring 7 feet in width, a smidgen under 2.1 meters. In 1959, they threw up a humble wooden shack right at ground level. This handsome tower was honored for its historical value, earning a place on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
