The second Griežės hillfort

The second hillfort at Griežės, located in Mažeikiai region, near Židikų seniūnija on the western bank of the Ventos river, is covered with overgrowth. It isaligned west-east, 24 m wide, 15 m high, and 10 m deep in the southeast. On the southeast side of the hill, there is a 0.2 m high platform, 6 m wide, on which one can climb a 1.6 m high, 11 m wide step to reach a previous structure. Below the platform, a 4 m wide terrace slopes towards the southwest. The previous structure has a square shape, also aligned west-east, 27 x 25 m in size. The platform on top of the previous structure is 18 m wide, 2 m high, with a 11 m wide and 0.5 m high griovys at the top.
