Situated on the left bank of the Vereta River in Skuodo Regional Municipality, this ancient hill, which dates back to the 1st millennium BC, once served as a residence for various civilizations. The hillfort, about 40 meters long with an oval-shaped summit, stood approximately 0.8 meters high and boasted a 14-meter-wide base. A 4-meter-high earthen mound encircling the hillfort's central area further solidified its defensive nature. This hillfort was later transformed into the castle of the Gėsalų Kuršiniai in 1253 AD. In 1966, an archaeological dig by the Lithuanian History Institute took place, unveiling a pagan burial site beneath the hill.
