Created by artist Andreu Alfaro Hernández in 1999, the Red Columns of Bellaterra stand proud in the southern entrance of Bellaterra's Campus. These vibrant structures, made from red granite, stretching between 25 and 40 meters tall, dominate the campus's lush heartland. Upon approaching one of the primary entrances, visitors are greeted by each column, adorned with plaques bearing the names of universities belonging to the Vives Network. The Red Columns symbolize the powerful connection that ties the Catalan university community, as well as the inescapable union between nature, science, art, and identity. They were unveiled on the 10th of September, 1999.
