Moorish Temple Church in 11th Century Spanish Countryside

San Cebrián de Mazote's church, located in Valladolid, Spain, is a preromanic Moorish temple. Founded by a community of Moorish monks in the 11th century, it is the largest example from this period. The church features five columns, an arcade in each nave, with the central nave being higher and illuminating through windows on the side walls. Excavations revealed portions of toba in the western circular space, possibly part of a dome or barrel vault. The current restoration was completed between 1941 and 1944.
