At the heart of Užpaliai-Svėdasai, about 500 meters north of Užpalių centro, lies the enigmatic Piliakalnis of Lygamiškis. This triangular hillfort, situated on the southwest edge of the plateau, is encircled by a 90-meter-long ditch, 1.6 meters deep and 10 meters wide. The most intriguing feature of Piliakalnis are the statues, some of which appear to be designed as giant thrones, waiting for those willing to uncover their mystery. Approximately 0.5 hectares of the hillfort's area contains a settlement where pottery fragments were found. The Piliakalnis of Lygamiškis, dating back to the Iron Age, was registered on 19-12-2005.
