The oval-shaped hill: 5000-year-old secrets at Degėsių piliakalnis

Degėsių piliakalnis, located 900 meters to the north-east of Šeimyniškių piliakalnio, is an oval-shaped archaeological site with an area of 63 m². Archaeological excavations at Degėsių piliakalnis in 1999 revealed artifacts such as two-wheeled cart axles, bricks, pottery, and animal bones, as well as human bones and pieces of flint. The site is dated to the first millennium BC, and the Lithuanian Ministry of Culture's decision to preserve the cultural heritage of the site was made on April 29, 2005. Today, visitors can ponder the mysteries of Degėsių piliakalnis in a quiet and peaceful setting in the woods.
