Woven into the modern fabric of Wannina and Nag' Hamad in Egypt, the ancient city of Athribis once brightly shone. It was known by the Greeks as Triphieion, or Tripheion, while the ancient Egyptians called it Hut-Repyt. Situated in the Panopolite nome, this city was a treasure trove of archaeological and historical wonders. One of its most captivating features was the temple dedicated to the goddess Repyt, constructed by Ptolemy XV Caesarion, and sitting south of an earlier structure, built by Ptolemy IX Soter II. The temple's celestial secrets unfolded above, with two zodiacs inscribed upon the ceiling, a common theme in Egyptian temples. Adjacent to this temple, tombs from the late 2nd century BC continued the tale, revealing yet more mysteries. This is the city, the temple, and 13,000 ostraca - concealed for two millennia.
