Nestled between Buspol and Bornela lies the enigmatic village of Salime, its connection to the Navia valley traced by a 16th-century road meandering alongside the river. This road, crossing the Navia river near the Ozca de El Carpio, serves as the pathway to the Ponte de Salime, a stunning architectural marvel that rises amidst the inspiring mountainous backdrop. The bridge, constructed in 1548, replaced the old road in Leirado, only to be tested by time, collapsing in 1936 and again in 1953 following the same flood. The river, with its northward flow, presents a dynamic obstacle to communication, continually challenging navigators.
