The ruins of Castillo da Frouxeira, located in the parish of Santa Cilla do Valadouro in the municipality of Foz, have an intriguing history. Originally owned by the Mindonese mitra, it was one of the belongings received by Pardo de Cela as a wedding gift. Pardo de Cela defended Castillo da Frouxeira against the forces of the Catholic Monarchs, led by Luis de Mudarra (a knight) and commanded by Fernando de Acuña. However, the castle's eventual downfall was not due to the military forces but rather to the treachery of Roi Cofano do Valedouro, a traitor within Pardo de Cela's own ranks. Today, only the ruins of the castle remain, offering a glimpse into the past and a reminder of the treachery that can lurk within.
