Nestled on the southern border of Grižiai, where the Krūvelis river takes a leisurely bend, sits the mysterious Rūdupio hillfort. This very mystery, hidden in plain sight, can be accessed via a road from Antanava to Armališkiai Rūdupiuose. Rising about 4 to 6 meters high, the fortress holds a square courtyard of 50 x 11 meters, with a 0.5-meter gap along its perimeter. Enclosed by a timeless ring of log ramparts, this ancient fortress remains undisturbed, an eerie question mark in the annals of archaeology. One wonders, has time's sly hand outsmarted archaeologists, leaving this peculiar puzzle undisturbed for centuries?
