The Allendelagua ruin, a curiosity in the town of Castro Urdiales, Cantabria, Spain, is shrouded in mystery. Although tradition suggests the Templars were its builders, no concrete evidence has been found to support this. The ruin, thought to be constructed between the 14th and 15th centuries, stands in ruins on a rocky hill, secluded from any accessible roads. Despite its advanced state, it is protected as a monument due to its cultural significance, according to the Additional Secondary Disposition of the Law 16/1985. Interestingly, the ruin was added to the Red List of endangered heritage compiled by the association Hispania Nostra in 2024.
