The Castle of Santia in Erla, Zaragoza, can be dated to the 14th century. It appears in documents as early as 1092 and 1110. The castle is located on a small elevation in the flat lands southwest of Erla. The fortress is in a trapezoid shape, with the main side measuring 20 meters. A pointed arch adobe gate guards the entrance. One of the angles has a tower, initially standing at 5 meters by 7 meters. Only one exterior wall remains standing, after a recent storm toppled two others, leaving one precariously standing. The castle, now in a state of poor condition, is included in Spain's Lista roja de patrimonio en peligro. Some walls of considerable volume still remain, forming a significant historical site.
