A 600-Year-Old Story Beneath the Black Friar

The Black Friar, a Grade II* listed public house on Queen Victoria Street, has a surprising history hidden beneath its cosy Irish pub facade. Beneath its brick and mortar exterior lies the site of a former medieval Dominican Friary, a fragment of London's past that narrowly escaped demolition in the 60s.
