Vieux-la-Romaine, hidden within Normandy, France, was the capital city of the Viducasses - a Gallo-Roman civitas. Established in the 1st century, it was built on the hill above La Guigne, flourishing under the Roman Empire before eventually declining. Reaching its peak during the 2nd and 3rd centuries, Vieux-la-Romaine became a thriving Roman city. Archaeological excavations throughout the 19th and 20th centuries unearthed significant public buildings, grand baths, a Gallo-Roman theater, and a remarkable house with a grand peristyle. Today, the Museum of Archaeological Vieux-la-Romaine houses these discoveries.
