Spirited Ruins of Santa Margarida del Pla

In the valley between the Talló and the serrat de la Llangotera lies Santa Margarida del Pla, a place revered for its ghostly resident. Originally built as a small rural chapel in the 13th century, this site was home to a number of nuns from the Augustinian order. By the early 15th century, the order had been disbanded, and the chapel became dependent on nearby parishes. Despite this, it continued to serve as a place of worship until it was tragically burnt down during the Spanish Civil War. Abandoned, it was later preserved by the Castellgalí Museum and now is meticulously maintained by a local group, who ensure the ghostly presence remains undisturbed.
