Located in the Molėtai region of Lithuania, the hillfort at Pavundenė envelops a past ranging from the first to the second millennia. Its oval shape, three distinct ramparts, and a defensive ditch suggest its purpose as a strategic stronghold. Today, the hillfort lies peaceful, a quiet corner on the side of a busy road. However, beneath the hill, 1 to 2 meter terraces, buried after the early 20th century when the canal flowed through, reveal the history of a prehistoric settlement that once stood nearby. This hillfort is situated on a solitary hill, with the 1 to 2 meter terraces beneath holding statues standing up to 5 meters high.
