Näckens polska

Näckens polska, a sculpture created by Bror Hjorth in Uppsala, Sweden, in 1967, stands as a six-meter-tall sculpture group with two figures: Näcken and Huldran. Näcken is depicted playing the violin, while Huldran remains unspecified. The statue was initially placed near Uppsala Central Station, where it remains one of Bror Hjorth's most famous works. However, the explicit depiction of the male genitals on Näcken has stirred controversy, as it has in the past, such as the requirement by Uppsala City in 1951 for the statue's alteration. The statue is named in several Swedish folk tunes from various regions of the country.
