Molino de Martos: Transformation of a medieval mill into a waterside museum

The Molino de Martos, situated on the banks of the Guadalquivir River, was a typical medieval mill from the 13th to the 18th century. In the 16th century, it was converted into a building with a hydraulic system called regolfo, replacing the old system. The initial installation of eight stones for mechanical action later increased to ten. The museum, opened in 2006, showcases the history, culture, and traditional uses of water. The museum focuses on various aspects, including food (wheat flour), dyeing (cloth and textiles), leather products (leather), and vegetable fibers.
