Spain's 17th-century blessing from the Puente Romano's Archangel Raphael

The Triunfo de San Rafael del Puente Romano is the oldest of the many monuments dedicated to San Rafael, the guardian angel, in the city of Córdoba, Spain. It was created by Bernabé Gómez del Río in 1651 and was incorporated into the Puente Romano's pretil (sidewalk) to bless all visitors who went in and out by the Puerta del Puente. It holds a special place in the hearts of the residents of the Campo de la Verdad neighborhood who maintain its veneration by offering candles in candle form. There are two commemorative plaques. The lowest one, from 1789, was offered by the tanners' guild for the newly proclaimed King Carlos IV.
