The Horadada Tower, a centuries-old defensive watchtower, was built during the reign of Felipe II for the defense of the Levantine coast against Berber pirate attacks. Constructed in 1591 by engineer Cristóbal Antonelli, the tower marked the southern border of the ancient Kingdom of Valencia and served as a point of defense for the river Seco and the Mar Menor. In 1588, when a corsair galleon approached the coast, the Horadada gave warning to the Torre de la Encañizada.
In 1657, two corsair galleons entered near the nearby Punta del Gato and captured dozens of residents. The tower has been listed as a Bien de Interés Cultural with a registration number of RI-51-0009150 dating to November 28, 1995. Located in Torre de la Horadada, a pedanía of Pilar de la Horadada in Alicante, Spain, the tower is in a state of repair and is connected to a private residence. Its distinctive design, featuring multiple windows and three floors, stands at approximately 20 meters in height.
