Hidden beneath an ancient spell lies the enchanted city of Hamdullahi, once the cherished capital of the Fula Empire of Massina. Built by the noble Seku Amadu in the year of vision, 1820, the city thrived under the golden rays of the 19th century, carrying a population of 11,200 devoted souls. Nestled by the hush of the regal Bani River and cradled by the gentle embrace of the Bandiagara plateau, its walls and cobblestone streets continue to whisper tales to the present-day satellites. Although claimed by the tendrils of time in 1862, the remnants of Seku Amadu's palace and the loving mosque can still be found, standing tall as specters of a time long gone.
