In the heart of France, on the commune of Clergoux in the département of Corrèze, stands the Château de Sédières. Originally built in the 14th century by Jean Boutier, the castle underwent a major reconstruction in the Renaissance. The château was then remodeled with Italian Renaissance windows, a kitchen, and 13 rooms or chambers, some featuring monumental fireplaces. Today, the Château de Sédières is known for its rich history and stunning architecture, which includes Flemish tapestries, Delft pottery, Italian plafonds, and Renaissance furniture.
The castle has been through various owners, including Gabriel Delessert, Adolphe de Chanal, and Adolphe de Chanal’s wife, Béatrice de Chanal, who continued the interior decoration. In 2026, the Château de Sédières will host Un Été à Sédières, a cultural festival dedicated to nature with exhibitions, concerts, and shows from June 13th to September 30th, 2026.
