Castell de Guimerà

The Castell de Guimerà, located in the village of Guimerà, Spain, is a medieval fortress. Situated strategically at the border between the altiplano and the carena of the Corb valley, the castle was built over a natural rock platform. It is one of the remainders of the medieval enclosure, expanded in various phases until the western extreme. The construction of the Castell de Guimerà began in the 11th century by Christians during the Reconquest. The first documented reference to the existence of this castle dates from 1058.
