Andrea Palladio's Villa La Rotonda

Villa La Rotonda, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a Renaissance villa situated just outside Vicenza in Northern Italy. Designed by Andrea Palladio, it was not intended to reside on a working farm, and underwent modifications during completion.

Villa La Rotonda, completed in 1605, is a Renaissance villa situated just outside Vicenza in Northern Italy. The villa, officially named Villa Almerico Capra Valmarana, was designed by Andrea Palladio for a retired clerk and nobleman, Paolo Almerico. While the interior contains frescoes, and the central hall bears a dome inspired by the Pantheon, there are notable differences between the original plan and the completed structure due to modifications made by Vincenzo Scamozzi during the completion process. The villa is part of the City of Vicenza and the Palladian Villas of the Veneto World Heritage Site.
