The Villa Valmarana, situated in Vigardolo, Monticello Conte Otto, displays an impressive architectural design that belonged to Andrea Palladio in the 16th century. This magnificent villa was specifically commissioned by two cousins from the Valmarana family, and it seems Palladio's brief was to provide spacious accommodation for two nuclear families. The layout of the rooms suggests an influence from ancient buildings that Palladio had encountered during his first visit to Rome in 1541.
The villa is adorned with beautiful frescoes, with some dating back to the 16th century, and existing as a fascinating record of its original occupationin the Renaissance era. In 1996, UNESCO recognized the architectural importance of the villa by including it in the World Heritage Site named 'City of Vicenza and the Palladian Villas of the Veneto'. Today, Villa Valmarana continues to inspire awe in visitors as a testament to the rich ancient history and architecture.
