Secrets of Iron-Age Battles Hidden in Lithuania's Hillforts: Why Cydarus Castle

In the verdant hills of Lithuania, an enigma unfolds. Whilst ancient battle secrets whisper through the earth, no signs of Cydarus Castle can be found within the Iron-Age hillfort.

Just a kiss away from Pietryčiaus Church, approximately 1 kilometer, lies an Iron-Age hillfort known locally as Tytuvėnų or Bridvaišio in Lithuania. While no traces of Cydarus Castle appear to exist here, this fortress boasts asquare-like shape with a subtle background curve and a ditch roughly 25 meters by 18 meters wide. The entrance, ranging from 1.5 to 6 meters in width, reveals itself at that very fortress.
