Aal: The Medieval Seat of Power,seen through the remains of Sten Haraldsson

Aal, a medieval ruin, lies in Vånga socken along the northern shore of Roxen, Östergötland, Sweden [1]. In the early 1400s, Aal was the seat of Sten Haraldsson Gren [1]. Sten Haraldsson Gren's son, Magnus Gren, held the rank of riksråd [1].The farm was later moved to the location where Grensholms egendom is, and the name was changed [1]. Archaeological excavations were conducted on Aal during the 1900s [1]. In 1995, the ruin's masonry entrance was restored [1].
