A captivating chronicle: Stora Gårda

Stora Gårda, a historic estate in Örgryte, Gothenburg, can trace its roots back to 1550. Once nestled with the residents called skattebönder (tax farmers). Nils Börjesson, Gothenburg's first mayor, acquired the farm in 1633 from the heirs of the last skattebond. When Nils Börjesson was bestowed the title of Drakenberg in 1647, the farm became a significant historical estate. The eastern wing was built in 1756, and in the 1830s, a smaller cellar was added. Veranda and staircase were built in the 1880s, and the facade on the southern side was constructed by city engineer Albert Lilienberg in 1922. Today, Stora Gårda continues to be a notable historical building in Gothenburg, Sweden.
