Established in 1861, Gothenburg Museum of Art is a haven of more than 70,000 works. Primarily boasting Nordic art from the 15th century to the present, it is Sweden's third largest museum with annual visitors reaching 250,000. The Swedish Museum of the Year Award was bestowed upon the museum in 2018. Monet, Picasso, and Rembrandt are among the featured artists, with the Fürstenberg Gallery showcasing P.S. Krøyer, Carl Larsson, Bruno Liljefors, Edvard Munch, and Anders Zorn. This architectural gem, designed by Sigfrid Ericson for the Gothenburg Tercentennial Jubilee Exposition in 1923, is an individual-listed building as of April 2017.
