A Sculpture Distorts Perspective from Many Angles: Incantatio

Incantatio, a sculpture created in 1992 by Roland Borén, is positioned outside Artisten, a building used by the School of Scene and Music at the University of Gothenburg. Made of welded, lacquered steel plate, the sculpture appears straight from several angles. However, upon closer inspection, an observer will notice that the sculpture is not exactly aligned with the two edges where it rests, revealing Incantatio's distinct skew.
