Torre Mena

Torre Mena, a protected local cultural heritage site in Badalona, Spain, is not what it seems. Built on the ruins of an older house dating back to at least the 17th century, it masquerades as a colonial-style building, but its true form is hidden behind a castell-like facade that belies its medieval roots. The building, which has a central body with two floors and two lateral bodies with a single floor, combines classical and medieval elements in an eclectic sense. The central body features a balcony on the ground floor that leans on iron columns and gives access to Plaça Trafalgar. Today, visitors can still find traces of its complex and intriguing past at Torre Mena.
