Standing tall on the hill of Medininkai, the stone memorial honors Karalius Mindaugas, the first King of Lithuania. Designated in the LR Kultūros Vertybių Registras (unique code 2821) and crafted to welcome tourists, this historical landmark sits within the Juozapines geomorphological slope, bearing the scars of its unstable geological foundation. A fitting stone, sourced from nearby, was hewn and inserted into the hill's peak as a tribute to the king. Subsequently, an inscription was added, honoring Lithuanian writer Antanas Juozapavicius, who shares the hill's name. This unforgettable stone has borne witness to numerous historical milestones, including a 737-year commemoration of Mindaugas' ascension to the throne on the 6th of March in 1990, and a subsequent observation for Karalius Mindaugas' name day on the 14th of October.
