A monument in Djurgårdsbrunnsvik, Sweden honors UN peacekeepers with the FN-monumentet. Designed by Liss Eriksson and inaugurated in 1995, it stands partly in the water, highly visible and snow-free year-round. The monument is a testament to the lives lost and the artist's skill in capturing their story in a single, thin line. Veterans Day is annually celebrated beside the monument. The FN-monumentet is also home to a separate memorial to Prince Bernadotte, sculpted by Norwegian artist Solveyg W. Schafferer in 2010. The monuments are owned and managed by Statens Fastighetsverk.
