Rosendal Palace, located on Djurgården, an island in central Stockholm, was built between 1823 and 1827 for King Karl XIV Johan, the first Bernadotte king of Sweden. The collaboration of Fredrik Blom and Fredrik August Lidströmer resulted in the design of the palace. King Karl Johan had Rosendal Palace built on Djurgården, close to the southern shore of Djurgårdsbrunn Bay. It was completed in 1827. The palace interiors were recreated for the opening of the Rosendal Palace Museum in 1913. Today, the palace is open for guided tours during the summer months.
