The neoclassical healing oasis: Granada's Facultad de Medicina since 1944

The Facultad de Medicina de Granada is a particularly significant building, established in 1532 as one of the first faculties of the Universidad de Granada. The neoclassical building houses resources and references in the field of medicine and health with over 600 study spaces. For five centuries, the faculty has been providing medical education and training. In the 16th century, the faculty was established six years after Emperor Charles I took the first steps for the foundation of the University of Granada in 1525. The faculty moved to its current location in 1944 and complements the practical activities of the faculty's Hospital Universitario San Cecilio.
